Carnival
On 8 February, the Nagyberezna Kindergarten of the P. Katalin Frangepán Grammar School held its traditional carnival. Both the children and the staff of the institution were enthusiastically preparing for the winter-expelling event.
Carnival is always a particularly anticipated time in the lives of children because it’s when their imagination can roam freely, and they can dress up as any funny storybook character, animal, or occupation.
On Carnival day, the children arrived at the nursery in a different mood than usual, somewhat excitedly. Dressed in costume, they entered the group and greeted their peers in their fun costumes. During the morning, our group took part in a joint parade, where they all enjoyed recognising the figure of a famous fairytale character or animal. Afterwards, we sang cheerful carnival songs and danced to happy music. The fun continued for everyone, with games (chair-sitting, broom dance, games of skill, etc.) to get everyone in the right mood, and when they were a bit tired, they sat down to taste the delicacies prepared by our cook.
The fun finished before lunch, when the costumes were changed into more comfortable clothes.
Many of them happily recounted their impressions and experiences from the previous day even the next day.
