Excursion to the Nyzhnya Apsha Local History Museum
The Local History Museum is a place where the past meets the present. When you walk through it, you can feel how the past fills you.
On 25 October 2023, students and staff from the Taracközi Kindergarten of the P. Katalin Frangepán Grammar School visited the Local History Museum in Nyzhnya Apsha.
The purpose of the excursion was to learn about the history of our homeland and to teach respect for culture.
During the excursion, the owner of the museum, Mr. Ion Botos, showed the children how men and women wore their clothes, how they prepared the threads for weaving clothes, how they bleached or dyed these threads, how women embroidered shirts and tablecloths. The children learned about the types of houses our ancestors lived in, the household items and the furniture that surrounded them. They also had the opportunity to get a closer look at wooden and metal products, carpentry tools and the equipment used in blacksmithing. In the museum there are many books, furniture and decorations that tell the story of the Upper Tisza region.
The children gained a lot of experience and knowledge during the excursion, which contributes to the appreciation and respect of the heritage of our past.
